Ana Fazendeiro and Catarina worked on a simple geometric modular typeface that was an interpretation of the geometric typefaces used in the time of ‘Estado Novo’. The typefaces of these particular period where influenced by the Bauhaus style [...]
The tree alphabet has been severely trimmed to act more like a typeface; quirkiness is easier to add than to remove.
The font of Catarina and Ana (F) is shaping up: a whole upper and lower case alphabet is complete, and yet with many alternative solutions (=painful decisions).
Currently, they are also working on a more stretched (condensed) version of the whole thing.
Hugo and Sofia are going a similar way like Monica and Inês: Their modules are based on non-alphabetic characters (half a parenthesis, a comma, and a hyphen):
Julia is exploring dynamics, speed and direction in a typeface made from boxes and arrows. Julia cleverly circumvented our rule set and decided one of her modules to be white. We are stunned.
Three styles of waves by Pedro and Joana (H)
Euh. Yes. Like a puzzle indeed. Please notice how strict Ana (B) and Silvio are: Two modules only, no overlap. That’s sports spirit!
